Music in the Senior Syndicate.

Katy Fitzgerald —

Senior Syndicate students are learning a range of musical instruments on Fridays.

Ukulele - I learn the Ukulele with Mr Waddell. It's really fun and so far I have learnt the C, F, AM, G7, G, D, C6 and DM chords. I think we also learnt E. I think it’s really, really fun because Mr Waddell is really energetic and funny, it’s so fun doing it. That's why I always can’t wait for Fridays with Mr Waddell doing the Ukuleles. My 5 favourite chords are C, F, AM, G7 and C6. The Ukulele is so fun, I love it! - Riley Cooper

Ukulele - When I learn the ukulele it is really fun. Mrs Gribben is the best ukulele teacher I have ever had. Mrs Gribben helps kids learn the ukulele. She teaches me C, F, A, D and G7 chords and more - Ashlyn Matapo

Percussion - we did percussion activities with Mrs Ollerenshaw. First we had to pass a noisy instrument around without making any noise. We also made some music with some instruments that you shake. We did singing with Miss DeCourcy. We sang songs about Wakari School. My favourite song that we sang was Hey Baby - Lilly Keith

Marimbas - I learn marimba with Mrs Fitzgerald. We did a song called Boris the Bassman. At first it might be a bit confusing until you get the hang of it. It will be really easy if you listen to Mrs Fitzgerald. Marimba is on Fridays while the other kids are doing ukulele with the other teachers. There are a few songs that you can play on the Marimbas. There are smaller marimbas, medium ones and the big Marimbas. They have an echo sound coming out of them when you hit the bars. The medium marimba has a deep sound when you touch the bars. The smaller marimbas have a little high pitch sound when you hit the bars - Briah Daggar
