Principal's Post

Stacey Gribben —

I hope you had a relaxing Easter Break. We were very lucky to have an excellent day for the Easter Bunny Hunt at the end of Term 1. It was lovely for tamariki to work with their school buddy to share in the fun.

Term 2 has started with a fantastic variety of events and activities.

We have had visitors from Tūhuru Otago Museum sharing Science activities with classes, Bob Bickerton presented an interactive music show to the whole school, the choir performed at the Town Hall as part of a 900 strong 'Kids Sing' choir from all over Otago, Winter sports are getting underway, school photos took place and children are involved with lots of exciting learning activities. It is hard to believe all of that has happened and we are only in week 2!

We welcome Che Arekatera Tera to Wakari School. Che is working with Whaea Sue to assist with Kapa Haka. We are very lucky to have Che's expertise and experience and really appreciate his help over Terms 2 and 3.

Once again, if I can be of assistance with any matter, feel free to contact me.

Ngā mihi
