Goodbye old classrooms!

Lucy Newton —

Room 10 and 11 watched as some of the old classrooms were demolished so we thought we would have some fun with it..

When the old classrooms were getting demolished, Room 10 and 11 children were eager to watch! We headed outside and watched as the the digger smashed the glass and teared down the buildings, such fun!

We decided to do some 'Moment in Time' writing about what we saw and heard as the buildings were getting taken down...

I see the digger breaking the walls and the roof falling off. I hear the glass breaking into pieces. - Ryder Rm 11.

I see the glass smashing. I hear the children screaming loudly. - Charlotte E Rm 10.

I see the digger destroying the old makerspace. I hear the glass smashing and the children screaming. Lachie Rm 11.

I see the glass smashing and the door breaking. I hear people yelling "break the glass!" - Poppy Rm 10.

We also thought it would be a cool opportunity to get creative and think of some ideas of what could replace the old buildings. Playgrounds, a pool and fun new classrooms were just some of the ideas that we came up with. In groups, we planned what we would want to go there. Next week we are going to make a paper prototype of one aspect from our design. Watch this space!
