KVC Sport Day

Anna Ollerenshaw —

Sports day on 7th March I went to sports day at KVC.

The first activity I did was frisbee golf, it was really fun. Payton and I were buddies. The first time it took us 42 throws to get it in the 9th hoop and it took Payton 45 throws. The second game we did was parachutes, not that we really parachuted! It was fun! We had 2 big parachutes on the ground. Everyone went around both holding on to one handle each had a dance party underneath. The 3rd activity we did was soccer. There was a boys soccer match and a girl soccer match. Iyla and Rosie were the captains. I was in Rosies team. After soccer we did rugby. I was paired up with Payton. We had to kick the ball to each other. Next we had to run and pass the ball. After we did marching you had to repeat after a woman the song was “Made You Look”

After we did kiwi tag, it's like a rippa then we passed in a line. It was fun. Next we did lacrosse, we passed it to buddies with racquets. Next we did athletics, which was a fun way to finish the day.

My favourite thing about sports day was the marching because we kind of got a chance to dance at the same time. It was fun and hot but I enjoyed it a lot. I also liked frisbee golf because we were surrounded by animals at the same time. It was really cool. But I didn't like the bees!

On Tuesday 7th all of the Seniors were lucky enough to go to Kvc for a sports day. We did plenty of activities which were all so much fun!

Every class did 8 activities from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

We stayed in our classes and did different activities.

Room 9 started with frisbee golf. There were a total of 9 holes all around the urban farm. It was super cool to see all the sheep, chickens and the bee hives along with all the plants.

Our second activity was parachutes. For parachutes there was a big piece of fabric that had handles. There were two parachutes so we were split into two groups. The parachutes had sections of colour and we had to run and swap handles while it was up in the air which was really fun.

For our third activity we got to play football. We were split into teams and got to play a quick game before that we did some practice by passing and running with the ball. Football was good. My favourite part was playing an actual match.

Next we did some rugby skills by getting into buddies and passing it to each other and trying to get it down the line faster than the other team. We ran back and forth while passing as well.

Then we stopped for lunch.

After We had marching where we learnt a routine and the basics of marching. We had to stay in time and move as a group. We got to add our own flare as well

We went to play rippa rugby as our next activity and did some more ball skills and passes. We ran around and tried to collect tags while running around trying to keep our tags on.

Up next was my favourite activity we got to do, lacrosse. It was really cool to try lacrosse. We even got to play a quick game and did some passes, with buddies. It was awesome.

For our last activity we had athletics. There were hurdles, high jump, mini javelin and running along a rope ladder. My favourite was probably the high jump. Athletics was really fun.

That was Room 9’s whole day. It was superb
