Welcome back to term 4

Chris Smith —

With only nine weeks in this term it will certainly fly by. This will be especially the case for our Year 6 cohort as they enter their last term at Wakari.

The term looks action-packed for the children with plenty planned as per normal and a couple of new activities for our pupils. One of these will be a Hangi scheduled to take place on Friday 7 December. If you are willing to lend a hand please let either myself, Rebecca Swindells or Heather Bonney know. More detail will follow in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to our Year 4 pupils on a successful Outdoor Education experience towards the end of the last term at the Museum Sleepover, my thanks to the Middle Syndicate Teachers and parents for their work in making this an enjoyable time for the children. Next week our Year 5 pupils head to Camp Waiora for 3 days and 2 nights. This is an invaluable experience for the pupils, thanks also to those parents that have taken time off to attend and ensure the success of the Camp.

Well done the entire Senior Syndicate, Mrs Gribben, Mrs Brown and her team for a successful Production of Jack and the Beanstalk. As I mentioned in the evening performances it is opportunities such as these that make Wakari a great place for its pupils. Some future stars for sure.

Shortly syndicate leaders will look to put together all the information that they can to formulate classes for 2019. If you have anything you would like to discuss please see either your current or future Syndicate Leader early this term.

The Board has worked through appointments for the 2019 year. Please have a read of the article in this newsletter for more information. This will also include the movement of hubs as we continue to look how we can best operate in our co-operative teaching environments.

Thanks for the continued support and if I can be of assistance please make contact.

Cheers Chris
