Middle Syndicate visit Dunedin Landfill

Richard Murray —

Thanks to Jennie Upton, the Middle Syndicate had a very thought provoking visit to the Dunedin Landfill on Monday 2nd November.

In beautiful sunshine on Monday 2nd November, the Middle Syndicate visited the Dunedin Landfill in Green Island as part of their Sustainability Topic Unit.

EnviroSchools leader Jennie Upton organised our visit, which provided an interesting and thought provoking experience.

It was a great trip. We came away thinking really hard about what we throw away, how we throw it away, and what impact it has on our environment now and in the future.

"It was really hot and smelly, but I learnt that bugs can't chew through plastic and you don't put gas containers in the green bin because they could explode!" Jake

"I loved the treasure hunt we did. I learnt that you weren't supposed to bring plastic bags to the Rummage." Makayla

"I found lots of bargains at the Rummage!" Mariah

"It was the best trip I've ever been on!!" Miss Benwell
