A great start to 2022

Chris Smith —

I have been extremely impressed with the start that our tamariki and kaiako have made to 2022.

As we adjust to learning in the varied red settings I must take my hat off to all that are involved in the day to day running of this fabulous school.

COVID

The Heath and Safety of our community remain paramount in our decision making and please be assured that we are taking sensible and practical precautions at school. We follow the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health's guidance on Covid related happenings. One way you can assist us with contact tracing is to ensure your contact details are correct. So if you have had a change in your phone number or email address please let us know.

Mobile Phones and Smart-watches

A reminder that we do not allow children to have cell phones at school. We are now going to include smartwatches within this parameter. Smartwatches have very similar capabilities to cell phones. Their ability to take photos and film others means that in the hands of younger minds these may cause significant issues for children. If your child must have a cell phone or smartwatch at school they are to be handed to your child's teacher at the beginning of the day and collected at 3 pm.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Parent-Teacher interview slips will come home with your eldest child today. These interviews will be held over the telephone. Please return slips to your child's teacher by Tuesday 1 March. Tuesday 8 March will be a shortened day at School and we do appreciate the support around this. An article with a link around early pick up, for you to complete, will be sent out on Wednesday.

Congratulations to the Senior Syndicate on a terrific camp held in week two. Our thanks to the parents that attended and the staff at Camp Columba. Also thanks to those who are assisting with the various sports teams out and about each week.

As always if I can be of any assistance do contact me.

Ka mihi nui

Chris
