The Senior Uke group have been practising hard to get ready for this year's Uke Jam. Such an awesome way to spend the morning!
On Wednesday the Senior Uke group went to Tahuna Intermediate to play ukulele with different schools across Otago. There were over 500 kids there! We played songs that we have been practicing. We played a couple of songs then had morning tea. Then we came back to the hall and played some more songs. Lots of people were participating in 'Twist and Shout' and 'Get Stupid'. The last song we did was 'Eye of the Tiger' and some teachers went up to the front in tiger costumes and danced to 'Eye of the Tiger'. There was also a ukulele design competition were Callum and P from 'The Hits Dunedin' judged 3d ukes and ukulele templates. For the 3d ukes you had to make your own uke with cardboard and any other equipment and for the templates you had to colour it in with any colour you want. Uke Jam was the best. By Daniel Linton

After a couple of songs we all had morning tea. I saw some of my friends from my rugby team. After morning tea we starting playing the ukulele again. At the end of the ukulele jam all of the teachers went up in front of the stage and danced to 'Eye of the Tiger'. It was amazing. There were also 3D ukuleles that were in a competition. I liked doing ukulele jam - it was awesome! By Jake Hill
