PALs Training Day
A group of budding young leaders from the senior syndicate recently attended a training day at the Edgar Centre.
The purpose of the day was to introduce the group to the idea of being Physical Activity Leaders at Wakari School. In coming weeks they will be working on organising fun lunchtime activities for the school and classroom fitness activities.
Here are some reflections from the day:
Riley - It was good to meet people from other schools. I liked the fitness game where you took a card from a deck of cards that told you what exercise to do and how many.
Daniel - We did lots of running and played a great game with playing cards.
Hayley - I enjoyed getting blindfolded and trying to figure out from my team mates what I needed to do. There was a fun running game that you had to complete with a partner.
Lucy - I enjoyed running around and trying lots of different activities. It was a fun change from a normal school day.
Sophie - I liked the first activity where you had to make up your own game by changing the rules from what they usually are.
Kaylea - I liked making up our own games using different sports equipment.
Tui - I liked the activity where you used a blindfold, hula hoops, skipping ropes and lots of other equipment to make up a new game.
