Heading towards the Light

Chris Smith —

Halfway through Term 3, the days are getting longer and the smiles continue to shine at Wakari.

There has been plenty of opportunities going on for the Wakari Learners. With the change of seasons, there has been more on offer outside of our learning hubs as well. Differing sporting activities have been a personal highlight for me to witness, especially the positive attitude towards these challenges.

Thanks to those parents who have put their name forward to assist with the Year 4 Museum Sleepover and next term's Year 5 camp. The support from home is very much appreciated by the staff and Board.

We have recently had approval for our next 5 Year Property Agreement from the Ministry of Education. We are currently in the process of tendering for a Project Manager and then we can get stuck into some of our projects. Unfortunately, the bulk of the funding will need to be spent re-roofing a large section of the school and the pool. The rest will go towards sprucing up three of our learning hubs.

The senior leadership group are currently looking at the structure of our end of year reporting and have welcomed feedback from our parents during our mid-year interviews around those reports.

As always if there is anything you want to discuss feel free to make contact.

Regards Chris
