Splashing our way through term 4

Chris Smith —

It has been a challenging time to get towels and togs dry for our Junior and Middles swimmers of late, but the results are great to see.

We have nearly finished the 2-week block for 2 of our 3 Syndicates. We have had over 230 children through the pool each and every day. It really makes the work around the running of the pool worthwhile when we see the progress the children make across this time. My thanks to Jill and Alisha from JC Swim School and their instructors that deliver a quality product.

At the end of this year we will be farewelling 3 of our teaching staff and 1 support staff member.

  • Jim Kelly our caretaker is hanging up the tool belt. Jim has been with us for over 5 years and has always had a real passion for Wakari, its grounds and the pupils. We hope you enjoy your retirement Jim.
  • Liz Riggir will be continuing her career at Mornington School. Liz has recently been appointed to lead the Middle Syndicate there which is a testament to the quality practitioner that she is.
  • Charlotte Ford will be continuing her career at Green Island School. Charlotte will complete her registration at Green Island, but we will always claim her as a Wakari girl.
  • Scott Lane will also be finishing with us and will be looking to spread himself across a number of Schools as a reliever and continue to support his family in between times.

From the Board, other Staff and Community at Wakari we wish you all the best of times ahead.

The pupils continue to do well across the School, this years group have been a pleasure to lead.

Plenty happening across the last fortnight of the School year.

As always if I can be of any help pop on in to see me.

Regards Chris
