Great Turnout for Interviews

Stacey Gribben —

We had an amazing turnout for parent/teacher interviews. Communication is a vital aspect of the home and school relationship and more than 95% of our tamariki had a parent or caregiver meet with their teacher to share information. A big thank you to parents, caregivers and teachers for making it happen.

Swimming has been in full swing. It is great to see the tamariki learning and practising new skills and seeing the progress that they make in a relatively short time. Unfortunately the weather has not always been the best for swimming but we are lucky to have a heated, covered pool that allows us to swim, no matter what the weather brings.

A big thank you to the OGHS students who have been taking the senior syndicate for PE and games. We really appreciate their efforts and enthusiasm. We hope the sessions have been as rewarding for them as they have been for our tamariki.

As a school we have been making a huge effort to show that we take pride in our environment.  Each week the  Environment Cup is awarded to the syndicate that has made the best effort to keep their area litter free. It has been heart warming to see the children get behind this and show initiative and motivation to keep our kura looking smart and tidy.

With Easter and the school holidays coming up, I hope you all have an enjoyable break and look forward to continuing the mahi in Term 2.

If I can be of assistance with any matter, feel free to contact me.
