Room 6 have been writing poems based on The Magic Box by Kit Wright. They had to include some of their favourite things in the Magic Box. Here are some examples.

I will put in the box a big block of Whittakers chocolate 

and a fresh strawberry dipped in chocolate.

I will put in the box waves from a West Coast beach, covered in sand,

Mum, Dad, Christopher and Grandma sitting on the couch watching rugby.

I will put in the box me and my friends running along a sprint track!

Charlie and Teddy walking past my gate.

The box is fashioned from silver, water and rubber,

The joints are made of extra long gummy snakes that drop mini gummy snakes in my mouth!

I polish the box every day to keep my secrets safe and sound.

I will put in the box a sprinkle of rice with a dash of butter chicken,

Paint splashes from the paint brush of the Mona Lisa,

The chocolatiest chocolate truffle, bouncing off my tongue.

I will put in the box a sprint track with my friends,

Teddy climbing on my Vans,

Benny and Liv doing a comedy show.

I will put in the box a soccer field with my soccer team on it,

Jaime, Ruby and Maddy playing catch me,

Joey doing art,

Ryder doing a strange dance with Elijah and Mae.

The box is fashioned from ice, gold and fire,

With sprinkles on the lid and sweets in the corners.

Its hinges are buttons that drop food into my mouth.

One huge deep burning fire,

I would stuff all of my friends into a room each where they can do whatever they want.

I will put in the box an aquarium that's as big as the scale of a dragon.

The padlock will look like an octopus leg,

Jungle vines for the lining of the box.

I will put in the box a laser tag arena,

Some random chickens,

One giant potion of immortality,

And the world's largest zoo plus a jungle.

Sitting on the couch watching Ever After High,

A day at school,

A minute on the TV.

I will put in the box a yummy, mush banana cake,

A crunchy Jaffa.

I will put in the box a hug with Mum and Dad,

A prank on Skyler.

I will put in the box a snuggle with Dora, Mace and Ratbag,

A day with a dragon.

The box is made of silk and steel

With stars on the lid and a cat jewel for the hinge.

For pudding I will have a banana smoothie.

Some time to draw and play with my dogs,

Some maths to help me learn,

And why not throw in some money and memes, 

Plus all of my friends.
