We have been writing Narratives in R6 the last few weeks. Here is some of our favourite descriptive writing from this term!

This rhino looks two-headed but it is actually two rhinos. It lives in the savanna but he is very tired. The wind is rushing in the rhino’s ears. The mud on his back is hardening but it is cooling him down because the savanna is very hot. The rhino does not care because it is the rhino’s home. The rhino has it’s ways to stay safe, the HORNS!!!

They are very sharp so he can just go smash.

Kids For Dinner

Once upon a time in an old, mossy cottage next to a river bank lived a girl called Maisie. She had long black hair and a torn dress. She lived alone with her cat Potato. One hot day she decided to go for a walk down at the river and take a swim. So she got her leather bag and ran down. When it started to get dark Maisie realised she was lost. Later on she came across a cottage that looked exactly like hers. She pushed the door open and saw a whole different house. It was made of gingerbread. A woman was sitting next to a rug “Hello my dear it seems you have come across my house, here you sleep there”. She led Maisie over to a cage and locked it up. “Here you go stuff your face and I will eat you up”. SO the next day the women cooked the girl up and ate her. The end. (p.s Potato was the side dish)

Everything was happening so quickly. Suddenly, Bang! Rosie fell from the sky. As Rosie woke up feeling dizzy she saw a purple one eyed creature. Rosie was not scared or angry, she liked the creature. Rosie said hello to the creature then wandered off. She suddenly started to fly higher and higher “oh no!” she cried. Finally they got to the purple eyed monsters lair. The purple eyed creatures of course couldn't talk but they mumbled. “Mmmmh mmmmh” Rosie was confused but they didn't answer. They wanted to take Rosie away but the princess said "No don't take her away she’s powerful". They all stared at Rosie and said “Go back home now”. Rosie did so on her way she saw Pip the one who saved her. Rosie asked "Why did you save me?". Pip said "I knew you needed help". "Thank you and have a great trip home". “You too” she replied.

CRASH! There was a flash of light, I couldn't believe what I was seeing! There was an old stone bridge with a frog wearing a crown sitting on it. He started talking to me, “Hello fellow human welcome to Beeds land. I will give you a tour but please be careful because through the deeps of the woods there is known to be a witch, her name is Beed. She sometimes goes around and puts a spell on someone, this is a dangerous place so do be careful” I was shaking, how did I get here anyway! Before I knew it, Beed came out of nowhere and put a spell on me! I started floating up and up, and up until I reached the clouds! “I thought clouds were made of condensation” I said to myself, feeling confused. Before I knew it there was another crash and a flash of light but this time i was sliding down a rainbow and I landed in a pool of green slime “Yuck” I said. I started going deeper and deeper and i landed on a cliff. I lost my balance and fell off the cliff and I woke up and I found out it was all a dream, THE END.

Giraffe Writing

One day I was doing what Giraffes’ do, which is just occasionally eating leaves out of the tall trees when suddenly a lion jumped out of nowhere and started chasing me. As all Giraffes' do I started running, soon enough I had spotted another lion which then started chasing me too. Then another and another and another. I felt so scared and nervous wondering if I was going to make it out. I ran about another 150 meters before the scary lions made my nerves get to me and I tripped over. 5 seconds later everything went black I thought I was dead but no my eyes opened. I kicked 4 of the lions’ off and one ran away. Scared, I ran away lucky to be alive.

The Fire King

It was another day in Dunedin. People were having a car show, one of the cars reached 600 kmph!!! It was a hybrid car.The personal assistant opened the door. He went out of the car. He had black sunglasses, a t-shirt that had a picture of a fire-ball, he almost looked like he had a mask on… “Hello people, today I present to you the new limited edition Aston Martin Valhalla!!!! Hehe” said the mysterious man. He horrified us because when he looked away HE TOOK OFF A MASK!!!!! We could see in the mirror. He revealed himself to us. His head was made out of FIRE!!!!!!!!!!! Superman came in and then...He turned to crisp…...People from the army and police and FBI started to chase them in Lamborghini's. They threw atomic bombs to blow up their car and they accidentally threw one at his head. They stood there, at least they defeated him……The End, or is it……...

Heatwave

Inferno, an insane and totally violent queen. Her Gauntlet Squad made sure that all of our dragon tribe kneel and obey. She didn’t care how many innocent civilians died, she was a bloodthirsty Wind-Wing. (Insult)

Us Flame-Wings had known her as a queen for so long, too long. We have had enough! It was time to revolt. Only our elders knew how to tackle her rein, she was a Blaze-Wing which meant, more powerful fire-breath and even hotter scales. She was pretty much indestructible.

Only four of our dragons are Blaze-Wings, which gives us a 1 in 4 chance of defeating her. How I figured that out was that Inferno is a MASSIVE dragon. I know I couldn’t help, I’m just a stupid Ember-Wing.

How Cheese Girl Got Her Powers

I couldn't believe my eyes. I saw an amazing yellow crystal in front of me! I slowly reached to touch it then… it exploded! The next day I found myself with cheese powers! I am cheese girl now and all I have as a power are cheese balls. I need to find another crystal so that I can be the best superhero of all time, cheese girl! The next morning I got up early. I got a map of cheese city then started heading to Mozzarella Mines. Halfway through the track to Mozzarella Mines I saw a strange figure. It seemed like a small crumb. I looked closely, then I noticed that It was a nacho! I had to escape so I hit it with a cheese ball. That just made it worse. I tried again then finally it tumbled to the ground! I saw a glowing light. I followed it until I found a bright yellow crystal! I tapped it again then...BOOM! It exploded. In one minute I was awake with so many cheese powers I would be the best superhero of all time!

Miss Seethe

Her hair looks like it is infected by a thousand spiderlings. She looks like a witch that hasn’t seen light or a bath for 100 years. Her eyes are as RED as a freshly erupted volcano. She acts like a 5 year old girl that's experiencing never ending tantrums. She swings her stick 1000 miles a second which makes her fly to Uranus often. She says detention all the time because that was the first word she learned. She likes saying detention and swinging her stick around her grumpy old wrinkly head. She dislikes being told off and not being the head mistress. She likes being mean and grumpy.

Long Long ago there lived a smart young boy named Jacob. He lived in a beautiful cottage with his Mother. Lots of people saw Jacob as a normal boy. Oh but this was very wrong Jacob was a wizard

One day Jacob was walking down the same small path in the woods he walked every day. This time around the path felt weird as it has been going on for quite some time. The Path normally only took 5 minutes, the path seems to have gotten longer?.

An hour passed and Jacob came across a stone but this stone was different and he was attracted to it . So Jacob walks up to the stone and picks it up as he gets a grip on it...it shatters to pieces revealing a ring. Jacob being so attracted to it he puts it on. Once it slipped on his finger a weird ice started to spread but this ice was different. This ice spread very fast “I know what this is” Jacob yells “It’s the cursed ring” so quickly Jacob pulls out his wand and points it to what seemed to be the heart of the ice. A moment later he yells the words ``Flipindo'' the ice disappeared but what to do with the ring. Jacob takes the ring and throws the ring to the ground points his wand at it and yells “Boombarda” the ring gets destroyed. Jacob runs home and tells his Mum this crazy story.

A terrible B-day

Once upon a time there once lived two men living in a wood musters hut down by a freshwater river. In the hut the two men were gulping away their breakfast. Of course it had to be fresh whitebait patties and freshly grown avocados smooshed over toast and why not some salmon on top. Justin was 33 years old and Tristan was 59 years old. It was going to be Tristan's b-day in 3 days so Justin was making a chocolate lava cake but suddenly Tristan was walking out to the deck then … BANG!! CRACK! POW Tristan fell straight down a hole Justin screamed out “Are you ok?”. “yes and no” Tristan said in a loud voice “I have a broken leg but I am ok”.
