An action-packed term coming to an end.

Chris Smith —

The adage of 'if you blink you will miss it' has come home to roost this past 10 weeks with the term flying by.

My thanks to the 95% of Wakari whanau that took the time to attend our recently held parent-teacher interviews. For the 5%, that for one reason or another did not attend, it is imperative that you touch base with your classroom teacher and that you do come along to the next round of interviews happening on the 28th and 29th of June.

The Education Review Office has been re-modelling the way that they review, and work alongside schools. Wakari School looks forward to welcoming its lead reviewer who will work with us on identified areas for improvement for the next 3 years early next term.

The school looks forward to welcoming back Jason MacDonald to the staff. Jason will be working alongside teachers and pupils as an active coordinator. Jason will work mainly across the middle and senior syndicates with a few different hats. Active play with the middles, targeted and structured sessions around fitness and skill development with the seniors and possibly some skill-based sessions with some of our sports teams.

We had six staff attend the 3-day Project-Based Learning 201 course last week and the initial feedback from those that have attended is very positive. I look forward to seeing the results of this Professional Development play out in our upcoming PBL topics.

If I can be of any assistance do please call in to see me.

Regards Chris
