Values and the 4C's

Chris Smith —

It is time to remind our kids about our School Values, School Vision, and the 4C's.

One of our Professional Development focuses during Term 3 is to look at our School Vision; "Happy Confident Learners". To explore our School Values; Honesty, Manners, Respect, and Kindness. Questions have been posed to staff; Are these still relevant? Do they resonate with the majority? Are they achievable? The staff gave me a resounding YES.

An integral component to these are also the firmly established 4C's; Courtesy, Common Sense, Consideration, and  Cooperation. We as a Staff felt that as a school some of our values had slipped and we have therefore been placing some emphasis on what we would term the basics across the school. I have been proud of the way the pupils have responded and the way the staff has taken on the challenge.

As always feel free to contact me if you have any thoughts on the aforementioned. principal@wakari.school.nz

I thoroughly enjoyed last week's assembly. The ukelele group and class Items again remind me of the excellent things happening at Wakari. Well done to the children that took on the challenge of the Hills Cluster Cross Country and have managed to make the cut and are off to the Otago event. Coming up we have the Senior Production.  Our Kapa Haka group will take part in  the Poly Fest as well as a number of other opportunities for the children to explore their talents.

Kind Regards

Chris Smith
