Year 5's have a blast!

Chris Smith —

Not even the wet weather could dampen the spirits of the Year 5 Cohort, their Teachers and Parents as they had a ball at Camp Waiora last week.

Thanks to those parents who took the time out to help make the Outdoor Education programme a success last week. Also, a thank you to the Senior Syndicate teaching team for the planning and executing of another good experience for our learners.

Class makeup for 2019 has begun, albeit in its infancy. If you have anything that you would like to discuss around 2019 please see either your current or future syndicate leader. The choosing of individual teachers is not an option for parents. If you are looking to move away from Wakari School in 2019 it would be really appreciated if you could let the office know.

At the time of publishing this newsletter, the Leadership Team are in Auckland looking over plans for 2019 and visiting Ngatea Primary School on the Hauraki Plains. Wakari is blessed with great staff and kids and it is exciting times ahead for our school.

It is unfortunate that the NZEI (Principals and Teacher Union) and the Government have been unable to put an end to the upcoming industrial action. Please note the school will be closed on Thursday 15 November due to the Teacher Strike.

A really good term ahead for our learners, do keep up to date with the goings-on to ensure your child is well prepared to make the most of what is on offer.

As always if I can be of assistance please let me know.

Regards Chris
