"If" poems, are poems where the children choose an animal and describe what they would look like and how they would move. Our "If" poems have had added illustrations in pastels. Look at all the fabulous colours we used to create our animals.
Room 8 have been exploring descriptive language during the last couple of weeks. We have been trying hard to add adjectives to our stories. We then wrote some "If" poems, adding adjectives, describing different animals and then talked about describing the actions (adverbs) of the animals. The children were very excited about their achievements and wanted to share these at assembly. Last Friday a few of the children shared their poems and pictures. There were lots of children who missed out who had wanted to share their poems, so we decided to add them to the school news letter. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as we enjoyed writing them.
