Lots of engagement across the School

Chris Smith —

We are hurtling towards the end of a shortened term and there is still some major opportunities for kids to be sinking their teeth into.

Our Senior Production "Snow White and the 7 Jockeys" has it's last  performance this  evening.  I hope you enjoy the show and applaud the efforts put in by staff and students alike.

Our 2 final year Otago University College of Education students complete their major posting shortly. I thank Miss Forsythe and Miss Taylor for the effort they have put in not only into this posting but across the year to date.

Next week around 140 children will take part, and represent Wakari, their friends and whanau, at the Polyfest. Thanks again to those that have supported the children in a number of ways and a special Thank You to Mrs Bonney and her team for leading the group.

Special mention must go to Mrs Gribben and the seven children that have won the Tournament of Minds competition in Christchurch this past weekend. The Wakari team are the South Island Champions and are off to the National event in three weeks in Wellington. Months of training culminated in a victory for the novice team. It reiterates to me that Wakari Kids are capable of anything! These children are organising some fundraising events to support their costs in getting to the final your support in their endeavours would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Chris
