Principal's Post
Ngā mihi o Matariki, te tau hou Māori. Greetings of Matariki, the Māori New Year.
Thursday 19 June started off with a wonderful celebration of Matariki. We gathered in the hall and up on the top field early in the morning to celebrate together. The hall was decorated with beautiful art works and fairy lights and we were informed and entertained by the Roopū tamariki. Big thanks and well done to Heather Bonney and Whaea Sue for organising the event. A huge thank you to the Wakari Union Church members for providing the delicious kai.
We had a 95% turnout for interviews held last week. Thank you to teachers for all the work that goes into report writing and preparing for interviews. Thanks also to whānau for your attendance and input.
We have had an exciting term of learning, focusing on Science for our Project Based Learning topic. Today we all get to share our learning and dress up as well!
I wish all the tamariki and staff a restful and happy 2 week break and look forward to an exciting Term 3.
Once again, if I can be of assistance with any matter, feel free to contact me.
Ngā mihi
