It has been great to see all of the children in the water over the last couple of weeks during their various aquatics programmes.

The upgrade of the pool is completed (until we do the next one) and the children have been in and enjoying this community facility. I have seen a steady stream of parents in purchasing keys so that their families can make full use of the resource. Thanks to Craig and Tim (our fabulous caretakers) for the running of the pool plant.

I am hopeful Thursday (weather permitting) that our group of 20 athletes competing at the Otago Athletic Champs do themselves proud. Would be great this year to return with some silverware. Thanks to Mrs Ollerenshaw for her organising and to the other staff and parents that have helped out over the last month. The kids have put in plenty of work and are a competitive bunch.

Thanks for the support around Teacher Only Day last week. This is the first of eight that were awarded to Teachers during their recent collective bargaining round with the Government. These days are to be taken between July 2019 and June 2022. Our next day will be Friday the 27th of March 2020.

A special thanks to Mrs Bond who finishes with us this week. She again has been a fabulous addition to the Staff at Wakari. Undoubtedly we will see her again working with the awesome learners at Wakari.
