Friday Project Trampers Head for the Hills

Anna Ollerenshaw —

Each Friday a group of six hardy Seniors head out to the hills around Dunedin to explore the great outdoors.

Every Friday a group of people go tramping. In the group there are six children, Fletcher, Hunter, Boston, Annabelle, Jacob and Charlotte. We have gone to Flagstaff, The Pineapple Track, Three Mile Hill and this other place near Three Mile Hill but it’s also a biking place, there were a whole lot of cool jumps. We had a lot of fun walking these tracks. We had three helpers, Hunter's mum Julie and Jacob's grandad Tom and Tracy. We had a lot of fun, we ate chocolates, walked through puddles and mud,  slipped over, but in the end we made it out alive all laughing and having a lot of fun.

I like tramping, it is different.  My favourite track is the Pineapple Track. There are so many different ways to get into the Pineapple  Track.  Tramping is a cool experience. I liked looking at the view at the top of a tramping track.

1- You need boots for tramping so you don't slip

2- You need warm pants

3- A warm jacket

4- Spare clothes

5- Food and water

Julie, Tom and Tracey all took us to different areas around Dunedin this term to go tramping. We went to Ross Creek the Pineapple Track and Flagstaff. We had so much fun. We ate chocolates, went through muddy puddles, slipped and slid, fell over when we went tramping. The kids are Hunter, Boston, Fletcher, Jacob, Annabelle and Charlotte.

We are lucky to have these parents come along and help do Friday Project. We say thank you to them all.

First we went to the Flagstaff track. It had a really cool view.  Next week we went to Three Mile Hill track it was exploding with nature. Third we went to the Pineapple Track it had double the amount of nature there and it also had a great view.
