Year 5 Camp

Senior Syndicate —

See how the Year 5 children got on at Camp Waiora.

When we first got there we unpacked and settled into our bunkrooms. Some boys had a chalet with four people in one bunk room and 1 or 2 parents in each chalet.  When we first got there one of the groups got to abseil. But first they had to practise on smaller ropes, then we did the big one it was really scary at the first part but overall it was really fun. On Thursday we had free time for a while so we got the cricket set out and started doing some pitches with the ball and bat then Brent saw us playing out of the kitchen window so he came out and told us some rules of cricket then a heap of kids started to play then we ended up with pitchers, batters and fielders. Shelby stayed in for ages with batting. Malak and Ousama should be in the Black Caps when they’re  older they are that good at batting.

Year 5 camp was amazing because we got to learn new activities like abseiling air riffles and archery.
We really enjoyed the nature trail and the orientation walk. morning tea and lunch was great because we had one fancy and one plain and for lunch we had to make our own sandwiches we had mayo, lettuce, cheese, cucumber,  beetroot and tomato.  Iziah went to the confidence course, the tricky part  was the tyres the easiest part was going through the TUNNEL! That's how much fun year 5 camp is! Next year 5's are going to have a blast.
