Epic science display from a visiting Science expert

Caroline Brown —

On Thursday Chris Richards came to show the Senior Hub some Science experiments. We are starting a new topic of Kitchen Chemistry and we can't wait to try some of our own experiments after seeing these reactions!

I liked the elephant toothpaste because it was satisfying when it came out.   By Maddy M

I liked watching the balloons inflate because of the different reactions each balloon had.     By Carson

I also like the elephant toothpaste because I had watched it online but it was the first time I had seen it live. I found out about how hydrogen peroxide reacted with potassium iodide and it created oxygen and the dishwashing liquid caught the bubbles.       By Sanjok and Ollie

I enjoyed seeing the hydrogen balloons because on the last two the balloons caught on fire and the fire was dripping off the balloons.     By Gracie

I enjoyed seeing the hydrogen balloons because they all made different sounds.     By Ora

It was cool seeing the colours change in the tube when we were testing for acids and bases.     By Ryder

It was outstanding hearing the pops when the stick was lit and the hydrogen gas touched the flame.       By Olive
