Opportunities Galore!

Chris Smith —

The school is humming as we head into the second half of term 2.

What a joyous place to work at. Wakari School currently is going as well as I have seen it in the decade that I have been lucky enough to be its Principal. Our values are evident throughout the school, not only in classrooms but also in the playground. Happy, confident learners enter the grounds in the morning with a smile on their faces and exit at the end of the day with similar looks of joy evident.

Congratulations to Mrs Georgie Bond who has won a permanent teaching position at Wakari. Georgie has been with us on and off for the past 8 years, leaving to grow her whanau only to return with her sense of humour and love of kids more in tact.

Joining us at the beginning of Term 3 in our New Entrant/Year 1 Hub will be Mrs Gemma Matsopoulos. Gemma will be operating in Room 2 and I am sure you will all welcome and support her throughout the remainder of this year.

Parent Teacher Interviews are fast approaching. We would love to see as many of you in person as possible. For many of you this may be your first opportunity to meet your child's teacher face to face. Please complete the Skool Loop booking system for your interview. While you are there, please also complete, under the permissions tab, whether your child will be picked up at 12.30 on the Monday or that they will be remaining with us at School.

Our community Matariki celebration will be held on Wednesday June 22nd. We had a fabulous turnout for our previous event and look forward to seeing many of you in a fortnight. On that evening we will have the new block open for parents to pop in and have a look at also.

If I can be of assistance please do pop in to see me.

Kind regards

Chris
