The wonderful writers from 9 have been working on their poetry writing.
We LOVE reading poetry and noticed that many of the poems we read rhyme. We worked on creating some of our own poems which rhymed. We also noticed many poems that we read focus on senses. We chose our favourite colours and tried hard to incorporate our senses into our writing. We have also had lots of fun exploring using similies. When we published our AMAZING poems we wrote on colourful balloons! The balloons look very cheerful in our classroom!
We hope you enjoy reading a sample of some of our amazing poems!
Cats eat fish
from a dish.
Dogs ride in cars
like movie stars.
By Tom
The cat that you can never pat.
My cat learnt to drive stinky cars
and crash into jars.
By Felix
My pet is some fish.
They swim in a dish.
They eat fish food.
All the fish are in the nude.
They are dudes.
By Ollie

My cat is a star.
He drives a car.

Red is as lovely as can be.
Red is love.
As red as a butterfly.
Red is as lovely as my family.

Orange
Oranges is the colour of juicy juicy oranges.
Orange is the smell of a tabby orange cat.
Orange is the taste of juicy oranges.
By Matilda
Red
Red as a rose.
It is the colour of Mars.
It smells like ink.
Also it tastes like tomato sauce.
