The new tennis season is approaching fast, and at Tennis Otago we're excited by the upcoming events we have in store!The OFS Insurance Brokers Otago Indoor Open is shaping up as the biggest and best Indoor Open in many years. Scheduled for 21-23 September, a strong field has already been assembled and is growing by the day. The Women’s Singles field is stacked full of talent, including Leela Beattie and up-and-coming Elys Ventura (17).

Leela and Elys are New Zealand’s top 2 female players (outside of those regularly plying their trade on the pro circuit). The Men's Singles field is also building strongly.

The action will all take place at the Edgar Centre and will climax on
Finals Day, Sunday 23 September. Spectator entry is FREE - get in early for the best seating! Would you like to be a ball kid on centre court for the day? Or would you like to help out with our catered courtside tables - waiters and waitresses are needed!

Registrations are now open for the Pre-season Tune Up Series being held on Tuesdays nights from 7pm at the Edgar Centre during late August and September.

Aimed at players keen to get some match play in before the OFS Insurance Brokers Otago Indoor Open or Senior Interclub, the series will be played on the following dates:

August 28th
September 4th, 11th ,18th

Entries are now open for the Junior Spring Series!

Aimed at juniors who have played interclub or tournaments before, the Junior Spring Series gives young players a chance to dust off those winter cobwebs and get back on court early in the new season.

Juniors – are you looking to get back into the swing of things nice and early? Keen to boost your time on court with spring just around the corner? Tennis Otago is running a FREE Saturday afternoon hitting group for juniors during Term 3.

The hitting group will provide juniors at all levels of development with additional hitting opportunities, and will complement those provided by clubs and other tennis providers.

Even better, you don't need to be a member of an affiliated tennis club to participate, and you don't need to register - just come along ready to play! Click here for more info
