On Monday, we said thank you to our Wakari School Road Patrollers.
After a fantastic year keeping our crossings on Helensburgh Road and Shetland Street safe after school, we held an at school Orange Day celebration to say thank you to our wonderful road patrol 2023 team.
Earlier in the year the children were trained by Constable Ross Greer in how to manage the school crossings and keep kids (and grown ups!) safe when crossing the road. Each day the children would leave the classroom before the 3pm bell to go and get ready for the days patrol. At 3:10pm the children would finish the patrol and head home. A huge thank you must go to all of the children for giving up their time after school to keep our community safe.
To say thank you, the road patrollers took part in a swim at the school pool, received an ice block and also a trio of goodies sent in from the Police to say thanks. This included an orange day wrist band, lollipop and a free swim and hydroslide at Moana Pool!
So once again, a huge thank you to our wonderful 2023 Road Patrollers! Remember, signs out, check and cross now!
