Senior Winter Sports (K6, K7, MM8, MM9) @ Hagley Park 2025
Winter Sports competition at Hagley Park is on Friday afternoons from 1.15pm-2.30pm. The competition starts on Friday 23rd May and will run through until the middle of Term 3. Our Netball, Football , Hockey and Rippa Rugby teams will all be playing at Hagley Park this year. Information about games and maps of Hagley Park can be found on the Primary Sport Canterbury website and we will post on this school web page.
The buses will leave school at approximately 12.45pm and return at around 2.45pm. Waltham School has again opted into the Government’s Donation Scheme for 2025 so there will be no charge for Winter Sports this year.
Please ensure that your child has the appropriate clothing each Friday. This includes the appropriate footwear to play sport in and a jacket for the walk there and back.
Please note:
Football players will need boots and shin pads.
Hockey players will need boots, shin pads and a mouth guard.
You can purchase a mouth guard from school for $5
Rippa rugby players will need boots.
We do have some extra supplies of boots and shin pads at school but not enough for each child. We will sort these before 23rd May. Please also ensure that your child has a drink bottle to take with them.
Most teams have a large number of participants, with some squads rotating who plays each week. Coaches will manage this, and participation will also depend on student absences. This will mean all children should be prepared to play every week.
If you have any questions please see Mrs Wheeler or the coaches listed below.
