Dog Safety at School
Help keep our tamariki safe and secure around dogs
Some of our students may have had little or no prior contact with a dog, or may have had an unpleasant experience with a dog. Our younger students are also very inquisitive and may approach a dog on the school grounds without asking.
If you are bringing a dog into the Waltham school grounds, it must be on a short lead at all times and be under your control. If you are waiting for your child, please refrain from having your dog sitting in entrance and exit areas or blocking footpaths/walkways.
Dogs are also not permitted in any indoor space (including classrooms and offices) with the exception of guide dogs.
All dog owners have the responsibility to:
keep other people safe around your dog
avoid situations occurring in which your dog could annoy, rush, frighten or injure someone or another animal
care for your dog.
Please be aware of your responsibilities as a dog owner:

Thank you for your support in keeping our children safe.
