News from The Board
Welcome to the first instalment of “News from The Board” where each board member will write a short article to keep you up to date with the latest board activity.
At the end of January, we had a strategic planning day, this was to establish our priorities for 2023 and to confirm the role each board member has to play in achieving the goals we have set.
Along with maintaining the school's educational standards and MOE compliance, we have prioritised gaining a better understanding of what you as a community want from the school, we will do this through various community engagement events throughout the year.
We also recognise that our road frontage/carpark/drop off zone is no longer fit for purpose. To have this addressed is going to be no simple task, we are reaching out to the various local authorities, the MOE, the Selwyn District Council, and even our local member of parliament! This is a major priority for us, but it is going to take time and will more than likely extend into 2024.
Our board meetings are open to anybody who wants to come along, if you would like to attend for any reason please email me directly at jimmy@weedons.school.nz
