Principal's Desk
Welcome to Term 2, I hope everyone managed to have some down time and enjoy time together.
We had a great first day of term with our ANZAC Service. We were lucky to have The RSM of 2/1 Battalion from Burnham come and speak to us about the reason we commemorate our ANZACs and help us with our remembrance.
This Term our learning across the school is Social Science. Children are specifically learning about Aotearoa New Zealand History. As you may be aware the New Zealand Curriculum is being refreshed and the Histories part is the first to be completed. Our overall focus is Tūrangawaewae - Kaitiakitanga (Belonging and Guardianship) and our big questions are: How did Māori live in the past, and use our local environment? How has this changed over time? Teachers have spent a lot of time planning some fantastic learning to help children answer these questions.
Thanks to those who have paid your school accounts we really appreciate your prompt payment. Please contact Debs if you would like to arrange a payment plan.
Enjoy the rest of this short week.
