Last week some of the Year 5-8 students participated in the Netball/Rugby Tournament with other local schools. Below are reports from some of the players. Thank you to the coaches for giving up their time each week to coach and the parents for transporting the students to and from the event.

Year 5/6 Rugby Report

On the 26/8/22 some of the Years 5 & 6 went to Foster Park for a rugby tournament. There were a bunch of schools competing including year 7 and 8 teams. The first team we were up against was West Rolleston. They were a tough team but they were fair; we lost about 30 - 0. After we had a little bit of a break, we watched the Weedons year 7/8 team who were playing quite well.

The next few games we lost but we were getting better because of our coach Ben McFarlane, Mrs Ford (for putting it all together for us) and Chris Adamson (for support and encouragement) helping us get better through every game.

We were so happy because through it all we held our ground and at the end of the day we finished pleased in ourselves.

Year 7/8 Rugby Report

A great day was had by all at the Rugby tournament.  We had some close games and quite a few wins.  We played as a team and worked together which is why we were successful.  Overall we came 5th on the day.

Year 7/8 Netball Report 

Thursday, 24 of July the Weedons Netball team played in the Zones Netball Tournament at Rolleston Courts. We played 7 different schools in 10 min games, against other Y 7&8’s. We won two of them and lost the other 5, so overall we did better than last year. We improved and we tried our best, that's all that matters.

We would love to say a huge thanks to our coaches Kirsty and Tracy for training and turning us into an amazing team. Without them we probably wouldn't have done as well. They also brought HEAPS of great food which filled us all up very quickly.

We all used great sportsmanship and played very well. We worked well as a team and overall it was a great experience!
