Top Performer - Harakeke - Term 4

Jane Adcock —

The final Harakeke Top Performer award for 2022 goes to Alysha L.

This has been a great year for Alysha because, no matter what has been asked of her, she has proved herself to be both capable and efficient. Alysha has made the most of the new opportunities that being in Year 6 has offered and has been particularly active in both the Cultural Group and the Peer Mediator group. She is always full of ideas, seeing them through to completion, and has applied herself conscientiously to all work in the classroom, consistently delivering to a high standard. Alysha represented our school at the ePro8 technology challenge and also at a number of sports events. Over the course of the year, she has made great progress in maths and reading but her particular strength is writing, where she produces engaging, quality writing across a wide range of written tasks.

Alysha demonstrates commendable ambition and determination, both inside and outside the classroom, and this was particularly evident on camp where she rose admirably to every challenge. Her passions are a wonderful mix of horse riding and rugby, dirt biking and art. This year, Alysha has increasingly demonstrated the Weedons Way values and has become a great role model. She is a respectful communicator and has developed an inclusive nature, willingly helping younger students when needed, especially in her role as Peer Mediator.

I look forward to watching Alysha continue to grow and mature as she becomes a senior leader within our school and continues to lead by example. Congratulations Alysha on this 2022 Top Performer award!
