Rob Naysmith —

I would like to welcome Hayley Currie to our teaching team. Hayley has taken over from Michele Dawson in Rimu - Room 5, for the remainder of the year. Michele has taken discretionary leave. Hayley is an experienced teacher and we are looking forward to working with her.

On Monday we had a Teacher only day. We had a productive day learning about the new Aotearoa New Zealand Histories curriculum, working through some big picture planning for 2023 and other whole school organisation. These days are extremely beneficial as we continue to move our school forward.

Our Board election is well underway. If you haven't already please take the time to read through the candidate information and vote. Voting closes on Wednesday 21 September 2022 at 4pm, postal votes recieved up to 5 days after this date.

The Government announced a public holiday to take place on Monday 26th September to commemorate the passing of Queen Elizabeth. This means that school will be closed on this day.

The children were pleased to have the flying fox back in action this week after it has been away for repairs. It is also great to see our Year 7 & 8 students out practicing for Koru Games and more activity happening as the weather improves.

Ngā mihi nui
