Russell has always demonstrated a maturity WAY beyond his years which is reflected in an amazing writing talent that we are in awe of (please read the description below that he has just written).

With his vivid imagination that is fed by avid reading and a passion for digital games, Russell has definitely become our resident “go-to” guy for writing inspiration and next-level vocabulary, as well as all things related to the latest in technology advances. Seeing Russell’s passion on his Oculus 3 is truly a sight to behold and signals an awesome future in digital technology, should he choose to go in that direction.

Russell’s considerable ability in all academic areas means we are never short of thought provoking contributions that reflect his deep thinking and inquiring mind. He loves imaginative, creative challenges in areas such as technology, maths and science but also demonstrates a love of drama, where his ability is legendary.

Russell brings a positive confidence to everything he does but also the much needed flexibility to make changes or adjustments in order to accommodate others. His willingness to “give everything and anything a go no matter his ability level” is the kind of mindset we need more of. He is a respectful communicator and a great listener which, coupled with his generous, inclusive nature, makes Russell a very well-liked member of the class.

Fantasy Village

Soft flames illuminate the bustling cobblestone streets while structures, towering high in the darkened sky, loom over the ancient settlement. Flags battle for the eye of by-passers, oil lamps hang from rickety and untrustworthy bridges.

The wheels rumble and halt in protest of the pristine elk-like beings clambering across the cracks and nooks of the active village. A lute plays a melodious tune as people barter for a plethora of objects.

The sulphurous smell of burnt ash glides effortlessly, accompanied by the humid scent of moss and algae roaming the streets. Freshly dug and imported vegetables emit a strong and enticing aroma from within their barrels.

The rough leather robes stroke villagers travelling through town. Moist algae dominates every vacant space. Splintering wood barrels, weathered and decrepit, line the bustling, sharp gravel road.

A powerful and lingering sensation of rum remains on the villager’s taste buds while the taste of potato leek soup is joyfully savoured by most. A hearty steak has been jubilantly feasted upon and is now contentedly being enjoyed.

A warm and inviting feeling fills the air and puts everyone at peace. A cheerful and content atmosphere sends a smile to a person’s face.
