New ACES Programme- Mana Ake
Mana Ake is excited to introduce the ACES programme. It’s a positive strength-based approach focusing on empowering tamariki that have dealt with changes in the home, specifically parental separation.
The six one-hour sessions focus on:
*Normalising that every family looks different.
*Exploring that families always change and the reasons for the movement.
*Validating and exploring emotions attached to change with a specific emphasis on identifying and handling worries.
*A bright future—What are their hopes and dreams moving forward.
The sessions are facilitated by Mana Ake kaimahi with backgrounds in counselling, social work, and other relevant social service mahi.
Communication with parents will occur throughout the programme so information can be shared on the session content.
We'll be running this programme at the Rolleston Community Centre after school hours (3.30 to 4.30 pm)
