Thursday 23 February 2023 - 12:30 - 2:30. Parents (with children in Yr 5-8) needed for transport please.

The senior school swimming sports will be held Thursday 23 February at Jellie Park indoor pool from 12:30pm-2:30pm

The format will be decided depending on numbers in each event. There will be width and length races in kicking, freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. There may also be a butterfly event if there is enough interest. If time allows we will run some fun house relay type events including egg and spoon and kick board races.

If children wish to be considered for the Selwyn Central Zones, they must swim in the two length events and qualify in the top 2 children. If they are stronger in one than another they can swim 2 lengths freestyle and 1 length backstroke if they wish.

The final events of the day are the championship race for Years 7 and 8; this race is a three length medley of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke and the House relay.

We will have approximately 64 children participating and we would really appreciate any transport that you can provide. We will be leaving school at 11.45pm and will be back at school after 3.00pm. You can also take your own children from Jellie Park at 2:30pm if you are not transporting others back to school. Parents please meet outside Te Wharenui at 11:40am.

The form must be filled in by Thursday 16th February please to ensure we have enough transport. Please direct any queries to Maree Ford via email, mareeford@weedons.school.nz. The cost to hire the pool will be included in the Term 1 activity fee.
