Today we had Kathryn from Clever Little Bees come out and share loads of information about bees. She brought bee suits, all the bee keeping gear, hives and bees! The children learned about the roles the different bees play in and out of the hive, the importance bees have with pollination and about the role of bee keeper. This experience works in with our health topic looking at how communities work, as part of our Turangawaewae (our place to stand) focus. Half the school had lessons today and the other half will get this experience next week.
