Rob Naysmith —

Term one has flown by!

Thanks to the team here at school for their continued hard work and dedication to the children in the Weedons School community. I am constantly thankful for the high quality staff we have here at Weedons.

Reminder that our Teacher only day is Monday 1st of May. This is the Monday of the second week. The first day of Term 2 is Monday 24 April.

Yesterday nine of our year 7&8 leaders went to the Selwyn Sports centre for a leadership hui with other children from our area. The children listened to keynote speakers and attended a variety of workshops on leadership to develop further practical skills. The children enjoyed the day and took a lot from it.

The children had a great time today completing the Cultural Groups, Easter Egg Hunt (pictures below). We also had a large number of entries for the easter egg colouring competition. Winners will be announced tomorrow in assembly.

Every year the school needs to update its Charter and Annual Plan. The requirements for this are changing from 2024 and as part of this the Board of Trustees will be going through an in-depth community consultation process in order to help set the future direction of the school. This work will take place over the rest of this year. Please see the attachments below to see the 2023 planning. This will also be available on the website from next term.

I would like to thank Southern Woods Nursery for a donation of plants. Some of the Enviro team (pictured) planted them in one of our vege gardens for now. We will look to plant them around the scooter park next term once we have had time to prep the area properly.

I hope you and your children enjoy the next couple of weeks away from school and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 24th April.
