It has been a busy start to the week with the whole school attending swimming lessons at Canterbury Swim School each day. Last week we had our Years 5&6 children on camp in Hanmer, they all had a fantastic time and were exemplary with their attitude and behaviour. Even the bus driver made a point of telling me how good they were! Years 7&8 were on their Activity Days last week going to Adrenaline Forest one day, and jet boating and horse riding the next. It has been a busy and exciting time for our older children.

On Friday evening,  April Fitzjohn and Maree Ford attended the Selwyn Responsible Business Awards. We are pleased to announce that Weedons School won a Platinum Award for our Environmental efforts. We would like to thank April Fitzjohn who has been leading our environmental initiatives for a number of years.

We do have concerns around the safety of children leaving school especially from the carpark entrance. We are firming up some of our procedures around this, please make sure you read the article on this.

Tomorrow night there is a Friends of Weedons meeting at Two Fat Possums 7pm. I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Ngā mihi
