Invitation to an information evening to learn about Literacy and Numeracy at WEGC
Kia ora koutou
Now that the year is underway we’d like to invite you into school to hear about our approach to the teaching and assessing of Literacy and Numeracy at Wellington East Girls’ College.
We are going to hold an information session on Tuesday 10 March from 6-7pm in M1-6.
Topics we will cover include:
Why literacy and numeracy matter
The literacy and numeracy testing we do at WEGC
The support we provide for students who are struggling
What happens in classes across all Learning Areas to support the development of literacy and numeracy skills
What needs to be happening at home to support the development of literacy and numeracy skills
The NCEA Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite: What is it? How to students earn it? Why is it so important? How do we support your child to prepare for these?
We would love to meet as many of you possible, so if this is something you'd like to learn more about please RSVP using this form (there is also an area for you to add questions you would like answered): https://forms.gle/fGd2ZfBWZJ5SUMa58
RSPV-ing helps us provide enough biscuits and cups!
