Surfing
WEGC Surf Championships 22 students competed at Lyall Bay Beach in May to be crowned the 2025 Surf Champion. Junior Champion, Abi Brough, Senior Champion Audrey Thorburn
Tough Gal
110 WEGC students showed what they were made of at the 2025 Tough Guy and Gal Challenge! In Brilliant sunshine the team took on mud, obstacles, hills and streams that saw smiles all round
Rugby
The Under 15 team after training since term 1, have made the grand final against St Mary's.
Netball
College Junior Premier Tournament in June saw our new look Junior A Netball team play in their first tournament, cruising through pool play and semifinals to make the final. The only loss of the day came in the final. So impressed with netball skills, teamwork and backing each other.
Underwater hockey
Our Junior and Senior Underwater hockey teams placed in the Central Regionals hoping to qualify for the NZ Secondary School Tournament. Our Senior Team placed 5th which qualified them for Nationals. Our Junior Team placed 6th.
