Farewell to Dawn Hall

Hamish Davidson —

Dawn Hall will be retiring from her position as the Wellington College Gateway Coordinator on March 12. Over the past 24 years, Dawn has worked tirelessly to support Gateway / Pathways students find meaningful work experiences placements. In this role she has supported the learning, engagement and achievement of hundreds of young men.

Throughout her time, Dawn has consistently worked to get the best opportunities for our students in work places that help informal and advance the pathway plans. Her perseverance, energy, and commitment has seen her tackle the challenges of covid and slower economic activity. Her patience and empathy has seen students succeed when they have stumbled or faced unexpected challenges in their workplace. Employers and providers have appreciated her communication and support. They rarely say no to her.

Dawn's expertise and experience is recognised within the Gateway coordinators network and the wider Wellington Careers and Transition community. Many have benefitted from her advice and support. Dawn has been an outstanding team member in our department and school. We have all benefitted from her support, energy, advice and care. We wish her all the best in the next phase of her life.
