WC Leadership —

An update on staffing changes for 2025

At the end of last year, we farewelled several valued staff members who are embarking on exciting new chapters in their lives.

  • Holly Browne has taken up the role of Head of Department for Technology at Tawa College.

  • Oliver Baxter has taken up a role as Head of Department for Social Sciences at St Patrick's Silverstream.

  • Luke Williams has accepted a position closer to home at Hutt Valley High School.

  • Blake Robinson is heading off on an overseas adventure.

  • Bob Mason and Lizzy Dixon will both be joining the team at Queen Margaret College.

  • Deepa Gowdra is moving to join the team at WGC.

  • Shona Venkatasamy has taken a position at Whitby Collegiate.

  • Matthew Dixon will be teaching Music at Aotea College.

  • Edward Turnbull has taken up a Technology position at St Patrick's Kilbirnie.

  • Hayden Kleiss is taking a well-deserved year off to travel abroad.

  • Richard Browne has taken a role as Assistant Head of English at Napier Boys' High School.

  • Sarah Reynolds and Emma Young will both be on maternity leave for most of 2025 as they each prepare to welcome a new addition to their families.

We sincerely thank these staff members for their dedication and contributions to our school. While we will miss them, we are excited for the opportunities ahead of them and wish them all the very best for the future.

We are excited to welcome a number of new staff for 2025. Lucy Stevenson will be joining the Careers Department. Sarah Bouaglia, Rebekah Roberts and Ted Wang will be teaching in the Mathematics department. Many whānau will recall that Ted began his teaching career here at WC and it's great to have him back. Ryan Frost will be teaching Health and Physical Education, and Evan Hunt is joining the Technology Department. Monique Webster will be providing maternity cover in the Drama department. Kevin Siemer, Matthew Siacci Davies, Caleb Green-Wilson and Neeraja Vijayarao will be teaching Science. Danni Cole joins us from Mount Albert Grammar to take a position teaching English. Jakki Galloway will also be joining the English Department. George Fleming and James Riach will both be teaching Social Sciences, along with Masters student Brooke Lyons. We are also pleased to welcome back Jessie Cooper (from the end of Term 1) and Caitlin Pollock from maternity leave.
