The latest news from our Enviro Team...

The EcoWarriors were busy during the recent Community Showcase. We were selling celery and leeks from our own garden (we still have some leeks left), selling and talking about tiger worms which we use for composting, teaching other learners how to plant tomato seedlings and getting the school hanging baskets all ready for a bumper crop of strawberries and thyme.

If you are keen on tiger worms, we are selling a big scoop in a 10 litre bucket for $10. Funds will go towards a number of upcoming projects we are developing.

The Garden group took a trip to Grandad’s Garden in Kirwee on Friday to get ideas for our fantastic new vegetable garden that Mr Blondell has created.

The kids got involved in planting out the lettuces and covering them so they were protected from the birds and rabbits. We were all fascinated by the tomato plants growing in the office and of course the farm machinery is always a hit however the pile off chicken poo wasn’t!!
We want to thank Mr Lawrey for having us, the kids had a great time.
Thank you Emma Smith for sharing this article and photos.
