Te Whatu Ora has introduced the Community Pharmacy Minor Ailments Service (MAS) at Unichem Rolleston pharmacies.

West Rolleston —

This service provides funded (no-cost) consultations, treatments, and advice for children under the age of 14 (and other eligible patients) for various medical conditions.

Dear Colleagues,

Hope you are keeping warm and well in this cold weather!

In response to the increased demand at primary care medical facilities and emergency departments in the winter months, Te Whatu Ora has introduced the Community Pharmacy Minor Ailments Service (MAS) at Unichem Rolleston pharmacies. This service provides funded (no-cost) consultations, treatments, and advice for children under the age of 14 (and other eligible patients) for various medical conditions, including:

• Pain and fever

• Diarrhoea

• Dehydration

• Minor eye inflammation and infections

• Minor skin infections

• Eczema or dermatitis

• Scabies

• Headlice

We believe this may be of significant benefit in Rolleston due to the difficulties in securing same-day GP appointments. The service has been specifically designed to improve access to care for high-risk patients, such as children requiring treatment for minor ailments. No need for children with the above conditions to be coming to school untreated! Please refer to the attached information which can be shared widely and displayed physically and online as you see fit. This service runs until 30 September 2023.

We wish you all a successful and healthy winter season.

Nga mihi
