School Holiday Fun at Shantytown
Over the school holidays Xavier, Logan and Bailey Croucher headed over to the West Coast and spent a couple of nights at Hokitika. They visited Shantytown and went panning for gold, visited the old post office and village, experienced the saw mill, visited the museum, discovered China Town and took part in the many activities at the Education Centre. The Education Centre was hosting a Wellbeing holiday programme set in an olden style classroom where they participated in many school activities such as painting rocks, looking through the microscope at various gold fragments, colouring pictures and most fun of all was entering the competition of guessing how many lollies were in the gumboot. Bailey guessed it correctly and is now walking away with a gumboot filled with 167 lollies. Well done Bailey!
