Te wiki o te reo Māori Celebrations
This week we have celebrated te wiki o te reo Māori with the theme of "Kia Kaha te reo Māori" this is all about giving the language a go!
This week we have learnt lots of new phrases such as:
Ka aroha - sorry
Homai te - pass me the (singular)
Homai ngā - pass me the (plural)
Mā te wā - see you soon
Te reo Māori is a national language of New Zealand and it is so exciting to see our learners growing in confidence to communicate using new kupu.
On Wednesday we had a whole school hui where we sang waiata, celebrated mihi and whakapapa and shared a legend.
Following the hui celebration we worked with another studio following a tuakana teina model where older learners taught younger learners new skills and activities.
