Message from the Principal
Thanks to Miss Katie Talbot for organising our staff visit to Ronald McDonald House last night [and one planned for end of November]. It was great to come together as a staff to prepare a meal for families in need. Katie organised the menus and purchased all of the food with money staff had also donated.
This week has been incredibly busy with the start of swimming, dances with schools and zone athletic sports - alongside delivery of the rest of the curriculum. Thank you to Mr Peter Northmore and well done to the children who will be representing our school and zone at the Canterbury Athletics early in December:
Sunny Shuurmans - 80mtr sprint
Isaiah Savea - Discus, Shot put
Sammy Walton - Distance
Molly Harvey - Long Jump
Tamzin Taylor - Long Jump
Jay Singh - Discus
The children have told me how much they have been enjoying their dance lessons. The dance lessons for Years 1-6 will finish with wee performances for families/whānau to come along and view. The Year 7/8s have the exciting opportunity of coming together with the other local school Year 7/8 learners at Rolleston College for their dance finale.
Finally, thank you to Mr Fraser Malins for organising the swimming programme for the next few weeks. Thanks also to all of the parents who have been helping with swimming this week. We could not do it without your support.
Have a safe and restful show weekend
Sylvia
